All of this could have been avoided had the Federation followed an inclusive,responsible policy in their dealings with the RMA. Once again, the RMA , the representative player council for the professional recording musician was not consulted or informed prior to the TV /Video negotiations. The irresponsibility is even more baffling when one considers the fact that Phil Ayling played a major role in the Motion picture negotiations. Considering the fact that we are negotiating with many of the same companies, on both of these agreements, one would think that it would have been totally sensible for Phil to segue from Motion Picture over to video negotiations.
I guess in this battle, common sense is too much to expect
